I loved this game. Hands down, one of the better ones. Guard duty is a tongue-in-cheek point and click adventure game with relatively easy controls and very little pixel hunting. The charm in the game is definitely there and I found myself chuckling or laughing several times.However... And this is a personal gripe of mine... Once act 3 starts, I felt like the charm was kinda... Dropped. Trying not to spoil too much here, we get a different narrative of the story and are introduced to a new 'hero'. I don't mind, as it's done good. And it sort of is and sort of isn't. It's way too short and a lot of the events are done for you (aka, the game does some sort of 'cutscene' thing, so you're just waiting there, wondering what's happening. But my biggest gripe of the last acts is the voice from the main protagonist. It's... Really frustrating to listen to for nearly an hour, especially since some of the dialogues go on forever. I get that they tried to make him some sort of 'badass' whom had 'seen things in the past', but it just doesn't work as we don't get to see any of that. And compared to the main character in the first two acts, whom is very lively and cheerful, it was a complete turn around. So yeah, if the last acts weren't so on the nose, a bit more fleshed out and the main protagonist had a different voice... I'd say that this game would have been close to perfect. But that's not to say that the game is bad. In fact, the first two acts are flippin' amazing. The characters are amazing, the voice acting is pretty good (again, one that it a bit so-so, but he's not there for 90% of the time). The sounds and music, are really nice and the humour \/ atmosphere is amazing.Certainly pick it up if you like point and clicks, it's worth it!. What a cute adventure i loved it and very ncie retro graphic hehe took me around 4 hours so not too short!. TL;DR This is easily one of the best Point and Click adventures to come out in this decade. If you like LucasArts point and click adventures, you need to play this.Even though it is completely missing the verb system, something I often miss in other new games, I have not missed it here. I really like how the developer has done this in 4:3 and actual Large Pixel Resolution\u2122, staying true to the classics. Speaking of those, there's quite a lot of nods and references "hidden" in the game. I would never have expected such a stunning voice cast in a game this cheap. The mix between Iron Age and 2074 is just right. It took me about 4 hours to get through it.I hope the developer will do another one. It will be worth the wait.. Excellent. Some of my favourite games are the LucasArts adventures of old (Monkey Island, DOTT etc) and the Sierra adventures (Kings Quests etc). It's only a few hours long, but it's a good few hours!
